What Should I do with My Valuable Items?

If you wish to have your mover transport items of considerable value such as antiques, jewelry, money, stamp and coin collections, etc., then you need to make sure your customer service representative is aware of this well before moving day. Most moving companies will recommend, however, that you keep those kinds of items with you at all times during the relocation or make other arrangements to have them transported safely to your new home. If an item is worth more than $100 per pound, that is considered to have an “extraordinary” value. You’ll need to sign the appropriate spot on your bill of lading that pertains to extraordinarily valued articles.
