What is an Inventory?

An inventory is a thorough description of all items you are having transported to your new home. It is vital that you check your inventory to make sure everything is accurate. If you have already packed items and sealed them in a box, you’ll see “PBO” written on the inventory. This stands for “packed by owner” because, of course, the mover cannot see what is inside the container. The inventory is the best way for you to track not only each item that is loaded, but also the condition of each item being transported. If there is a claims process due to damage or loss, the inventory will be the document used to start the process. It will be a must for you to clearly note any damage that may occur. This document not only protects you, it will also protect the moving company against any false claims.
